ABYLAI KHAN’S CLOTHES WERE HANDED OVER TO THE FUND OF THE AZRET SULTAN MUSEUM-RESERVE

The deputy chief imam of Turkestan region Mukhamedzhan Estemirov handed over to the Fund of the state Historical and Cultural reserve-museum “Azret Sultan” the clothes of ihram in the pilgrimage journey of Abylai Khan, who is an important personality of the Kazakhs, who united three zhuzes.

Ihram’s clothes were worn on behalf of Abylai Khan during a large pilgrimage trip to the cities of Medina.

As you know, in 2015, on the initiative of the first president of Kazakhstan-Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, a badal pilgrimage on behalf of Kazakh biys and Khans was organized for the first time in honor of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.

Hajj badal on behalf of Abylai Khan – one of the greatest khans in the history of the Kazakh Horde, which occupies a special place in the history of our country, originates from the Horde of Yezhen Khan, the founder of the Ak Horde was entrusted to the deputy chief imam of the Turkestan region Mukhamedzhan Estemirov. Mukhamedzhan Zhamantayevich, who performed the great amanat on the way of the Muslim duty of the Great Khan, decided that the pilgrimage clothes belonging to the person should be stand together with the legacy of Abylai Khan.

Acting director of the state historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan” Yersin Tazhibayev expressed his gratitude to Mukhamedzhan Zhamantayevich.

Badal is a pilgrimage performed by a person who has previously made a pilgrimage on behalf of another person. It is allowed to perform this Hajj for another person because of his health, old age or on behalf of his ancestors.

According to Sharia law, the Hajj should be performed by a person with religious knowledge or imams.

Ihram’s clothing is considered one of the duties of pilgrimage. Ihram is a fabric consisting of two parts. That is, the upper side is called “Rida”, and the lower fabric is called “Izar”.

Turkestan is the place where Abylai Khan was elected, ruled, and buried. The Tomb of Abylai Khan is located on the left side of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. In addition, Abylai Khan’s wife Karashash, Abylai Khan’s son Kasym Sultan, and Abylai Khan’s great-granddaughter Bopai Kasymkyzy are buried in the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
