The collection, published by the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan” on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Independence, includes money of the XIII century, stored in the museum.
The collection is intended for historians, scientists, students, masters and researchers.
Candidate of historical sciences, famous scientist Marat Kymyzuly and acting director of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan” Yersin Tazhibayev, a qualified specialist in the field of numismatics Tolkyn Zholdasov cut the ribbon of the book and congratulated the readers.
The book provides detailed information about the types of money found during archaeological research on the monuments of the Turkestan Oasis, and coins transferred by individuals to the museum’s funds, as well as types of money minted in the XIII century, found in burials.
Research on numismatic artifacts stored in museums of Kazakhstan has not yet been fully implemented. Only in recent years, from the works in the context of numismatic materials in the museum’s funds, we can mention the two volume catalog collection “Almaty treasure of Chagatai coins of the first quarter of the XIV century in the funds of the State Central Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan” of the Russian numismatist P. N. Petrov. The fund of numismatic exhibits of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum “Azret Sultan” has more than 14 thousand reserves.
