For a long time the museum-reserve “Azret Sultan” has organized an exhibition on this theme in the schools of Turkestan. These exhibitions are held within the traditional “History Week” in schools. A similar historical and cultural event was held today, December 20, in high school named after M. Abenova and school № 17 named after Ataturk Turkestan. The exhibition was attended by more than 100 students and teachers.
Handwritten books of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi and his successors, valuable relics of medieval XIV century presented to the mausoleum by Amir Timur – copies of lauga, doors, taykazan, ethnographic products from museum funds included in the unique photos of the city and the holy mausoleum, published in “Turkestan Album” by Koon in 1871-1872, were introduced to the audience. Led by the Human Development Department of the city, Talgat Orazov and Baiseit Sultan, junior researchers of the museum-reserve, conducted a tour of the exhibition for history teachers and students from each school in the city.
Schoolchildren and teachers received valuable information about Akhmet Yassawi and the mausoleum and expressed their gratitude.
