On the eve of the International Museum Day, organized by the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan”, a khan erection ceremony was held in the mausoleum of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi. The actors from Turkestan city Musical Drama Theater named after R. Seitmetov staged a historical performance dedicated to the place of Abylay Khan in the history of Kazakhstan and the inauguration of our great nation buried in the mausoleum of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi.
– The historical performance is organized within the framework of program articles of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – President Nursultan Nazarbayev “Spiritual revival”, “Seven facets of the Great Steppe”, May 18 – International Museum Day and the 30th Independence anniversary.
Through this theatrical performance, the Azret Sultan Reserve Museum tried to convey the historical reality. At the request of visitors, the museum showed interest in historical events and curiosity about the lives of historical personalities. “Considering that the historical personality of Abylay Khan is widely promoted among the population, we believe that this presentation will be useful for the development of patriotic consciousness and personal development of the younger generation,” said Nurbolat Ahmetzhanov, director of the State Administration. According to a famous scholar A. Levshin, “In 1771 in Turkestan there was a ceremony of raising Ablai to the rank of the main khan of the Kazakhs. It was attended by the khans and sultans of the Great Juz, Middle Juz, Little Juz, the heroes of the country, the best representatives of “Tashkent and Turkestan”. And this ceremony will take place in the mausoleum of Khoja Akhmed Yassawi in Turkestan. It is said that the Koran was read, and people gathered Ablai on the “white felt”, lifted him up on the roof and proclaimed him the Khan of the three zhuzes.
The holding of historical and reconstructive performances is now recognized as a traditional event of reserves and museums in a number of countries around the world.
In particular, the Borodino State Military Historical Museum-Reserve in Russia together with the Maloyaroslavets Military Historical Museum presents the historical events of 1812, the Borodino Steppe in a reconstructed form. The State Military Historical and Natural Museum-Reserve “Kulikovskaya steppe” annually describes the story of “the meeting of the army of Mamay in 1380 with the army of Prince Dmitry Donskoy”.
In Ukraine, the State Historical and Cultural Reserve “Poltava Military Steppe” traditionally reflects the historical period of the Poltava steppe in 1709. In the Czech Republic, the Historical Museum in Slavkovo (Austerlitz) together with the Mound of Peace Foundation annually reconstructs the Austerlitz Steppe (1805.) organizes an exhibition. Exhibitions of this project are traditionally held in nature reserves or museums in several countries, such as the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, Italy and France.
In honor of the International Day of Museums in the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan”/ opened two exhibitions “Secrets of Kultobe” and” “Works of followers of Yassawi”, presented a book dedicated to the great kuyishi Sugir Aliuly, a unique artist glorified the art of kuy.
Also during the holiday was organized a video interview of Yasawi scholar Zikiriya Zhandarbek “The situation of the Yassawi Way during the Kazakh Khanate”, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Khaziretali Tursun “Legends and Truths of the Turkestan Legion”.
In addition, the museum staff organized a weightlifting competition, an Asyk shooting competition among students, and an online quiz.
