Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Emmanuel Macron visited the exhibition “Kazakhstan: The Great steppe masterpieces” at the Gime Museum of Asian Art
Artifacts covering the main history of Kazakhstan are presented in the exposition. For example, in the first stage, there is a statue of “Тобыл ойшылы” belonging to the Neolithic era, as well as the Botai culture and the tradition of horse taming. In the second period, the appearance of the first nomadic tribes, proto-states, such as Saks and Sarmatians, is described through the “Golden Man” ornaments. Balbaltas tell the history of the medieval Kazakhstan during the period of the Turkish, the candlesticks of the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmet Yasawi tell the story of the development of Islam in the Kazakh steppe, the robe of Kazybek bi tells the history of the formation of the Kazakh khanate and modern Kazakhstan.
The Gime Museum was founded in 1889. The most valuable relics of Asian art are collected in its fund.
