On September 16, 2025, the Pavlodar Regional Museum «Ertіs» hosted the grand opening of the traveling exhibition «Turkestan — the Light of Millennia», created from the collections of the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve «Azіret Sultan».
The purpose of the exhibition is to glorify the legacy of Khoja Akhmed Yasawi, a great pan-Turkic figure and the founder of Turkic spirituality, to widely promote his historical identity and spiritual heritage, as well as to introduce the work of Yasawi’s students and showcase unique exhibits from the National Museum-Reserve «Azіret Sultan».
The exhibition features rare and valuable artifacts that reveal the thousand-year history of the Turkestan region.
Among them:
- Archaeological materials found in the Sherbay and Shpan burial grounds;
- Historical artifacts found in the cities of Shaugar-Shoytobe and Yasy-Kultobe;
- Information about the birthplace of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi – Sairam (Isfidzhab) and the city of Yasy (Turkestan), where he lived;
- Valuable information and unique relics related to the history of the construction of the Yasawi Mausoleum.
The exhibition features approximately 90 exhibits from the main collection of the National Museum-Reserve «Azіret Sultan».
The event was attended by representatives of the Pavlodar regional akimat, the department of culture, the department of religious affairs, the regional representative office of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, scientists, local historians, and university students.
The exhibition will run until October 18, 2025.
