“History Lesson in the Museum” Project

Within the “History Lesson in the Museum” project, organized by the “Museum Pedagogy” department of the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan” a series of museum classes and debates were held from February to June on the following topics: “The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi”, “Preserving historical and cultural heritage is our duty”, “The importance of regular museum visits for the spiritual development of rising generation”, “This chamber believes that visiting museums is essential for teens development”, “This chamber represents a city that is a leader in the field of museum promotion” and “Can digital museums replace traditional museums?”.

In addition, an educational lesson titled “Turkestan and Khoja Ahmed Yasawi” was conducted at the secondary school named after S. Rakhimov, and at School-Gymnasium No. 13 named after A. Navoi, a commemorative class “The glory of heroism will never fade” was organized in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Debates were held not only among school students but also among museum staff. On May 21, in celebration of the Day of Culture and Arts Workers, took place a lively debate among museum employees on the topic: “Can social networks serve as an indicator of the quality of museum staff’s work?”
