HISTORICAL EXHIBITION “80 YEARS OF THE GREAT VICTORY” OPENED IN TURKISTAN

Today, the Turkistan History Museum hosted the official opening of the exhibition “80 Years of the Great Victory”, organized in collaboration with the “Aziret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum, the Kentau City Museum, Secondary School-Gymnasium No. 14 named after Al-Farabi, and the S. Yerubaev Literary and Cultural Museum.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Murat Tastanbekov, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the “Aziret Sultan” National Reserve-Museum, who emphasized the importance of the event. Aigul Isabekova, Director of the S. Yerubaev Literary and Cultural Museum, presented information about the displayed exhibits. Meanwhile, fund custodian of the Kentau City Museum, Zilola Narzullayeva, shared historical materials reflecting the wartime period.

As part of the program, talented children from the Turkistan City Center for Children and Youth performed artistic numbers. In addition, Ainashur Aliyeva, a guide from the Museum’s Excursion Services Department, led a tour for visitors, providing detailed insights into the exhibits.

During the Great Patriotic War, more than 1.2 million people from Kazakhstan were mobilized, over half of whom—more than 600,000—died on the battlefields. From the Turkistan region alone, 18,547 citizens took part in the war
