A meaningful meeting on the topic of “The Teachings and Legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: Contemporary Research and Future Directions” was held at the Yasawi Museum. The speaker was renowned Yasawi scholar Devin DeWees. The special guest was shown exhibits from the museum of rare artifacts of great historical and cultural value for the first time.
Scholar Devin DeWees was a special invitee to the international symposium “The Yasawi Legacy in the Dialogue of Time and Culture: Humanistic Orientation and Contemporary Challenges”. During the visit, staff and students of the Azret Sultan National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve exchanged views with a foreign expert and held a free discussion about the teachings of Yasawi. Devin DeWees began by telling how he came to study Yasawi. During the meeting, the museum staff asked the scientist questions of interest to them and received meaningful and informative answers. At the end of the meeting, the foreign scientist was awarded on behalf of the museum-reserve staff.
