“BLESSED TAYKAZAN”

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the return to the historical site of the sacred Taykazan, the National Museum-Reserve “Әзірет Сұлтан” organized a traveling exhibition “Құт дарыған Тайқазан” in secondary schools named after Molda Musa and Ashirbek Sygai, Sauran district of Turkestan region.

About 50 exhibits were presented at the exhibition. Among them are archival historical documents on the return of Taykazan, reduced layouts of Taykazan, photographs from 1864 from the album of the Russian traveler A. Kun, an archival photo of Taykazan, taken to St. Petersburg in 1935, a unique photograph of Taykazan from the Hermitage exposition, and archival footage of the moment of removal of Taykazan from the Hermitage Museum in 1989.

In 1935, Taykazan was taken to the III International Decade of Iranian Masters, held in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, for three months, but he returned to his historical homeland 54 years later, on September 18, 1989.

Also, the exhibition showed historical documents highlighting the huge contribution of the statesman and public figure, ethnographer Uzbekali Zhanibekov to the return of Taykazan to his historical homeland.
