The time of the building’s construction is associated with the enlargement of the Turkestan garrison in the 2nd half of the 19th century. It has late additions from the end of the building, internal partitions are lost at the entrance. On the master plan of the military buildings of the Turkestan garrison in 1900, this building is designated as a barracks for the lower ranks of the 1st Turkestan Infantry Battalion company. Brick one-story building with an iron roof: in plan it is an extended rectangle. The building of the historical monument was chosen to house the museum, and an 8-part museum exposition was created, which opened as a museum on the eve of the 1500th anniversary of Turkestan. 2014-2015 restoration work was carried out to the monument. In 2016, work was carried out on the re-exhibition modernization, replenishment of the museum, reconstruction of old exposition representations in a new solution. Currently, the building functions as a museum of the history of Turkestan at the Azret Sultan Museum-Reserve.
