GOOD NEWS! THE YASAWI HERITAGE HAS BEEN ENRICHED WITH PRECIOUS MANUSCRIPTS!

The Research Center Yasawi Studies of the “Azret Sultan” National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve has gained access to remarkable heritage treasures through close cooperation with local residents. The year 2025 is concluding with exceptional success for the museum-reserve. Alimzhan Ramazanuly, a resident of the Sauran region, donated 16 valuable books that had been carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation for centuries.

Today, the official presentation of these artefacts took place in the library of the Yasawi Studies Research Center. The event was attended by Acting Director of the museum-reserve Nurlan Dükenbayev, Deputy Director for Scientific Work Murat Tastanbekov, Head of the Yasawi Studies Research Center Saipulla Mollaqanagatuly, department heads, and staff members. The presented books and manuscripts hold profound historical significance.

Among the newly discovered manuscripts is a unique copy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi’s “Hikmets”, written 192 years ago. Consisting of 85 folios, each page is beautifully inscribed in 15 lines using elegant nasta‘liq calligraphy. This precious work is an invaluable asset for science and spirituality. The collection also includes a manuscript dating back to the 16th century. Further research will determine the age, content, and authorship of the remaining books. It was noted that Chairman of the “Meirim” Charity Foundation, Erkin Saparov, made a significant contribution to locating these rare artefacts.

“In the search for these manuscripts, contribution of Erkin-aga is particularly noteworthy, and we express our deep gratitude to Alimzhan aga for preserving and saving these treasures for centuries. He comes from the “Mortyk” clan, a lineage of “kari” and religious scholars. The heritage was passed down through generations — for instance, Toymat kari diligently preserved the relics received from his ancestors, while Ramankulbay preserved the treasures inherited from his maternal relatives. Thus, the Yasawi heritage has once again been enriched with invaluable artefacts, making our spiritual treasury even richer!” said the head of the center.

The museum-reserve extends its heartfelt appreciation to Alimzhan Ramazanuly for passing these priceless manuscripts to future generations. Despite the passage of time, the artefacts have retained their immense cultural and historical value. In the near future, the manuscripts will undergo thorough study and will be introduced into scientific circulation.

A. Alibek, Press Secretary.
