🔹 Today, the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve «Aziret Sultan» organized a press tour to the Mausoleum of Zhusip Ata, which is under the museum-reserve’s jurisdiction.
🔹 The press tour was attended by professors from the Khoja Ahmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University and the International University of Tourism and Hospitality, media representatives and bloggers, as well as representatives of the Tourist Service Center and several travel agencies. The participants first visited the sacred site, performed ziyarat, and recited the Quran in memory of their ancestors.
🔹 The purpose of the event was explained by Seisenbai Akhmet, Head of the Public Relations Department of the museum-reserve. In his speech, he emphasized that Zhusip Ata is an important historical and spiritual figure, and that his mausoleum is a significant architectural monument. He noted that the site was restored with state funding, and that a pilgrimage center was built with sponsorship funds provided by Rakhmatzhan Abdussattarov. He highlighted that the press tour aims to promote the Mausoleum of Zhusip Ata as a tourist attraction and to increase public awareness of its cultural significance.
After this, archaeologist of the «Aziret Sultan» Museum-Reserve and Candidate of Historical Sciences, Marat Tuyakbayev, introduced the participants to the history of the mausoleum’s construction, its architectural features, and the archaeological research conducted there. He provided professional explanations about the architectural style typical of the 15th century, the authenticity of the brick dimensions, and the stages of dome restoration, emphasizing the need to promote the site as a tourist destination.
🔹 The distinguished guest of the event — academician of the International Academy of Literature, Arts, Culture and Social Sciences, public figure, and sponsor of the construction of the Pilgrimage Center and the event itself, Rakhmatzhan Abdussattarov — spoke about the life of Zhusip Ata and the operation of the center. The Mausoleum of Zhusip Ata is a monument of national significance, located in the center of the village of Eskі Ikan in the Sauran district, 25 kilometers from the city of Turkistan. Zhusip Ata was a contemporary and disciple of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, and according to some legends, his nephew. Only a few historical accounts about him have survived. According to Rakhmatzhan Abdussattarov, Khoja Ahmed Yassawi referred to him as “Ghashyq Zhusip,” meaning “in love with Allah.” Participants expressed their admiration while viewing the exhibitions in the Pilgrimage Center.
🔹 Over a traditional white dastarkhan, participants discussed ways to develop regional tourism.
Press tours to historical monuments under the museum-reserve will continue to be organized in the future.
