Goal of the “Young Tour Guide” Club:
To foster students’ interest to the history, culture, and spiritual heritage of their homeland, to teach them the skills of guiding excursions, to develop their speech culture, and to enhance their creative abilities. As future guides, students will gain knowledge about historical and cultural monuments, museum exhibits, and natural sites, and learn how to present them to a wide audience.
Objectives of the “Young Tour Guide” Club:
— To develop students’ research, inquiry, and communication skills;
— To create opportunities for the development of their creative abilities;
— To contribute to the formation of civic responsibility;
— To instill museum culture in students through excursion activities;
— To cultivate respect for museums and the history of their native land.
The “Young Tour Guide” creative club is a project designed for schoolchildren interested in museum studies and the promotion of cultural heritage. Within the club, students learn about the structure of an excursion, the stages of preparation, skills of working with an audience, and techniques for engaging storytelling. During the sessions, they study the historical significance of museum exhibits and practice delivering information in a systematic, engaging, and accessible way. Additionally, training is provided in speech culture, audience interaction, and the correct use of diction and intonation. At the end of the program, students independently develop short excursion routes and conduct practical guided tours for an audience. This program helps young people build confidence in public speaking, develop historical awareness and respect for cultural heritage, and guides them towards defining their future professional orientation.
