State Counselor Erlan Karin took part in the opening of the international symposium “Yassavi’s Heritage in the Dialogue of Time and Culture: Humanitarian Directions and Modern Challenges,” held in Turkestan.
The initiative to hold this symposium was put forward by the Head of State at the third session of the National Congress in Atyrau. At a meeting of the presidential board, he said: «It is necessary to pay special attention to the in-depth study and glorification of the heritage of Khoja Ahmet Yasawi. First of all, it is necessary to invite scientists from our country and abroad and hold a special symposium on this issue.»
Erlan Karin read out the congratulatory message of the Head of State to the participants of the symposium.
The State Counselor noted that this symposium will make a significant contribution to the systematic study of Yasawi’s humanistic ideas and the popularization of his spiritual and intellectual heritage.
The conference is attended by about one hundred famous scientists from our country, as well as Azerbaijan, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, the USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Japan. Within the framework of the thematic sections of the symposium, scientific reports covering various aspects of the heritage of Yasawi will be heard, and discussions will be held. Scientists will also exchange experiences.
