On April 17, 2025, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information and the Culture Committee, the “|Azret Sultan” National Museum-Reserve held an international scientific-practical seminar “Research and Practical Work on the Preservation of the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi”. The event was dedicated to the International Day for Monuments and Sites (April 18).
The seminar brought together representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Russian State Scientific Research Institute of Restoration (GOSNIIR), the “Kazkaitazhangyrtu” RSE and its research branch, the Kazakh Academy of Architectural and Construction Sciences, as well as experts in restoration, architecture, and specialists from various research organizations.
The main focus was on the comprehensive scientific research conducted at the mausoleum in 2024. Participants exchanged views on the introduction of innovative technologies and the preservation of the site’s authenticity. Special attention was given to both modern and traditional methods of research and restoration, as well as the implementation of advanced technologies aimed at safeguarding historical and cultural monuments (including diagnostic and monitoring studies, and the use of the latest digital equipment). As a result of the seminar, a special protocol was drawn up, outlining the priority directions for future research and practical measures for the preservation of the mausoleum
