On September 18, 2024, the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore hosted the grand opening of the traveling exhibition “Khoja Akhmet Yasawi and Ancient Turkestan”, organized by the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Әзірет Сұлтан”.
The event was attended by Deputy head of the Kostanay regional Department of Culture Abdrakhmanov Mels Beibituly, head of the regional department for Religious Affairs Kalmakov Yerlan Bolatuly, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, laureate of the International Prize “Zhambyl”, International Prize “Alash”, Honorary Citizen of Kostanay Serikbai Ospanov, teachers of Kostanay University named after A.Baitursynuly: Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Ismailov Serikzhan Sagindykuly, Master of Historical Sciences Akmaral Yerikovna Yeralina, Candidate of Historical Sciences Shalgynbekov Aibek Batyrkhanuly, as well as the heads of local museums, representatives of the intelligentsia and urban youth.
The exhibition featured more than a hundred artifacts stored in the fund of the “Әзірет Сұлтан” Museum-Reserve. Among them are archaeological finds from the ancient city of Turkestan, numismatic materials and selected works by K. A. Yasawi, such as “Divani Hikmet”, “Mirat ul Kulub”, “Pakhyrnama”, as well as valuable handwritten works by followers of the teachings of Ahmed Yasawi, who glorified spiritual values.
Speaking first at the opening of the exhibition, Deputy Head of the Kostanay Regional Department of Culture Mels Beibituly expressed deep gratitude to the management and staff of the National Museum-Reserve “Әзірет Сұлтан” in the person of Maulen Zharylkasynuly and sent a gratitude letter. He also presented valuable books to the staff of the museum-reserve, who participated in the organization of the exhibition, and wished the team success in further work. After that, the organizer of the exhibition of the “Әзірет Сұлтан” Museum-Reserve Kuanysh Yskak focused on the purpose and significance of the exhibition and presented the printed products of the museum-reserve to Deputy head of the regional Department of Culture Melsu Beibituly and Deputy head of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local History Elmira Ergeshovna.
Further, the guide of the “Әзірет Сұлтан” Museum Daniyar Saduakasov conducted a tour of the exhibition and emphasized and in his tour emphasized the importance of ancient Turkestan in our history and the value of the works of Ahmed Yasawi.
The exhibition, which came specially from the holy city to the northern outskirts of our republic, was viewed with great interest by both elders – elderly residents of Kostanay and young people.
This exhibition will delight residents and guests of the city from the 18th of September to 30th of September in the exhibition hall of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore.
