On the territory of the Zhusup Ata mausoleum in the city of Turkestan, the construction of a Visit center has begun at the expense of the museum-reserve and sponsors, and a capsule with a message has been laid in its foundation.
Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-reserve “Azret-Sultan” Nurbolat Akhmetzhanov, private entrepreneur, sponsor Rakhmetzhan Abdusattarov, residents of the village of Eski Ikan and descendants of Zhusip Ata took part in laying the foundation of the building for visitors of this historical object. – “Guided by the priorities outlined in the program articles of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev “A look into the future: modernization of public consciousness”, “Seven Facets of the Great Steppe”, in order to provide tourists who came to visit the historical sites of the Turkestan region with high-quality services, the museum-reserve is doing some work. Undoubtedly, the Visit center, the construction of which begins on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence, will create good conditions for pilgrims and tourists coming to the Turkestan region, will give an impetus to the development of domestic tourism. In this regard, we have held talks with local entrepreneurs and the issue of building a Visit center has found a positive solution. We express our special gratitude to the entrepreneur Rakhmetzhan Abdusattarov, who is the sponsor of the construction of the Visit Center for visitors of the Zhusip Ata mausoleum. This work will be continued at other objects of the museum-reserve, “said Nurbolat Akhmetzhanov, director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve” Azret-Sultan”. According to the design and estimate documentation compiled with the participation of construction specialists, the visitor center for tourists and pilgrims will consist of four rooms. These are the administrative office, the museum exposition, guest rooms and utility rooms. Along with this, much attention will be paid to the improvement of the historical site. According to historical information, Zhusip Ata grew a special grape variety. 12 varieties of grapes will be planted, and a special garden will be laid out.
Sponsor Rakhmetzhan Abdusattarov said that only the most valuable grape varieties will be planted in the garden. At the moment, there is a selection of grape varieties that are grown in our country and abroad. And the visit center will be put into operation very soon.
In historical sources and legends, legends indicate that Zhusip ata was a nephew, a contemporary of Ahmet Yasavi, his disciple. His mausoleum is located 25 kilometers from Turkestan in the village of Eski Ikan. It is a monument of local significance. In 2005, archaeological research was carried out here, as a result of which it was determined that the mausoleum was built in the XV century.
