Pavel Nikolayevich Petrov, a Russian scientist, candidate of historical sciences, numismatist, who arrived in Turkistan on a special visit today, hand over a numismatic collection collected from individuals to the fund of the reserve-museum “Azret Sultan”.Among the exhibits brought specifically to contribute to the traditional “Gift to the Museum” campaign, organized by the reserve-museum, are copper and silver coins from the VIII to the XIX centuries.According to experts, these ancient currencies are closely linked with the history of the Turkistan region. The fund of the reserve-museum “Azret Sultan” is rich in numismatic collections. I saw them during my visit to Turkistan, and also viewed them on the official website. I decided that these exhibits should be placed in a special historical place, not in my foundation. The historian seeks to collect historical heritage. As the study of numismatics has been a major part of my career, I have been collecting these items for years, “said Pavel Nikolayevich.Tolkyn Zholdasov, a custodian of the state historical and cultural reserve-museum “Azret Sultan”, a specialist in numismatics, notes that the exhibits presented to the museum’s fund have a great value.During the meeting, Ersin Tazhibayev, acting director of the state historical and cultural reserve-museum “Azret Sultan”, thanked the scientist, who came from Russia and contributed to the increase of the number of about 26,000 exhibits in the reserve-museum fund.It should be noted that the history of the “Gift to the Museum” campaign in the “Azret Sultan” reserve-museum dates back to the time of the famous commander Amir Temir.Evidence of this are 6 gold and silver plated candles, taikazan and lauha, preserved in the mausoleum. Subsequent exhibits are closely connected with the name of the historian, statesman and public figure, ethnographer Uzbekali Zhanibekov. When the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi began to function as a Republican Museum, the museum’s funds contained more than 300 exhibits, and today the number of exhibits is about 26,000.
