The purpose of the work, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is to inspect the walls and building materials of the mausoleum of Hodja Ahmed Yassawi, an outstanding medieval architectural monument, and identification of the technical condition of the largest brick dome, of shortcomings due to natural disasters and various factors, preservation of the mausoleum.

In this regard, a group of experts from the Kazakh Research Institute of Construction and Architecture, consisting of scientists and researchers, has been conducting expert work from the foundation of the mausoleum to the dome.

– “Kazakh Research Institute of Construction and Architecture is a well-known organization with internships not only in Kazakhstan but also in the CIS and Central Asia. Today, the best scientists and experts study the suitability and durability of building materials of the mausoleum of Hodja Ahmed Yassawi, various internal and external influences. According to our current findings, the foundation of the mausoleum is strong and in good condition. Restoration work in this direction has also yielded positive results. The walls and various parts of the building have been repaired.
We are determining the resistance to seismic and other conditions using special devices. The exact decision of the analysis will be made after the meeting of the relevant scientists in the center in Almaty, and the results will be known. “Various measures are being taken to maintain the mausoleum of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi. Last year, experts from UNESCO also analyzed the construction of the mausoleum. In the future, the mausoleum will be equipped with devices for monitoring earthquakes and various earthquakes. It should be noted that the mausoleum of Hodja Ahmed Yassavi is a domed building with a large portal. It is 46.5 m wide and 65 m long. The building has a huge portal (width – about 50 meters, the length of the portal arch – 18.2 m) and several domes. There are 35 rooms for different purposes around its central hall. The height of the building from the top of the dome of the church to the top is 37.5 meters. The thickness of the outer walls is 1.8-2 m, the thickness of the boiler walls is 3 meters. The general structure is symmetrical, the individual parts are asymmetrical, this tall building consists of 8 different groups of rooms.
