New information about the history of Turkistan was found in the archive

Employees of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan” visited Almaty on a scientific trip.

During the visit, as part of a two-pronged research project, the staff of our museum conducted research in the collection of rare books and dissertation hall of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the library of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Gylym Ordasy”, the archive “Gylym Ordasy”, the management archive of the institution “Kazgitazhangyrtu”. Specialists who have studied historical data and works in libraries and archives, copies of dissertations on the history of Turkistan in recent years and documents on the restoration of historical monuments in Turkistan in different years, materials about the Republic of Turkistan, records of members of the Tsarist Geographical Society about Turkistan, underground collected new data on their activities. It should be noted that, this year the State Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum “Azret Sultan” won a grant at the competition of scientific projects of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the project “Comprehensive study of the socio – economic and cultural history of the city of Turkistan in the middle of the XIX-early XXI century” and “History of spiritual underground mosques of Kazakhstan and “Museification of the underground mosque of Kyluet”.
