Revealing the significance of Turkestan in the country’s history, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev noted: “Turkestan has been the heart of the political and spiritual life of the Kazakh Khanate and the entire Turkic world for centuries.”

The State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan” organized the organization of traveling exhibitions in the capital of the Republic of Astana and in the city of Taraz, dedicated to the celebration of the 20th anniversary of our capital Astana and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan “.

The next stage in the implementation of this project is hold to this exhibition, which consists of 3 sections. The first section is devoted to the historical cities of the Turkestan Oasis. On the heap concentration of the cities of the Turkestan oasis located on the middle reaches of the Syrdarya river. The second section is dedicated to Khoja Ahmet Yasawi himself and his heritage, called by his contemporaries “Sultan of Saints (Spiritual Teacher)”.

In this section of the exhibition, the invaluable legacy of Khoja Ahmet Yasawi was exhibited: “Diwani Hikmet”, “Risolla dar adabi tarikat”, “Bustan ul-mihibbin”, the chronicle of “Nasabnama”.

The third section of the exhibition is dedicated to historical personalities buried in Turkestan. Turkestan since the XVI century, since the reign of Yesim Khan, has become the capital of the Kazakh Khanate. Since that time, many khans, such as Zhangir, Tauke, Bolat, Abilmambet, Abylay, exercised their rule in it. Since that time, Turkestan has become a national pantheon, where most Kazakh khans were buried. Many famous personalities left their descendants to bury their bodies in Turkestan.

Aktoty Raimkulov, Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan: – “Turkestan is the cultural and spiritual center of the entire Turkic world. And in this sense, the revival of the region as a separate territorial unit is a wise decision of the Head of State”

Thanks to the strategic decision of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev on the establishment of the Turkestan region and the transfer of the regional center to Turkestan, a powerful impetus will be given to the intensive development of the region. Turkestan has a sacred, historical and political significance for the Kazakh people; has invaluable relict monuments, is the bearer of that sacred ethnic code of Kazakh culture. “

Kopen Amirbek, writer-satirist, Honored figure of the RK: “I think the phrase of the President of the French Republic, Charles de Gaulle, is relevant:” If you lose the battle, you can find a new way to win the war, there is no harvest this year, he can please his abundance in next season “. But speaking about the development of the country, we can not ignore the culture of the people. Kazakhs have a tradition of distributing a cut of fabric – zhyrtys. Through a piece of material people share their joy, and also wish long years of life. In the same way, in genuine rare things there is energy. People go to the museum, despite the fact that all this can be seen on the monitor of the home computer. This is the role of museums. The descendants of the Kazakhs are proud of their ancestors. This is normal and, undoubtedly, deserves respect. “

Nurbolat Akhmetzhanov, director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Azret Sultan” in Turkestan: “Turkestan has always been the spiritual capital of the Kazakhs, the center of attraction of the Central Asian pilgrims. The newly formed Turkestan region is the center of attraction for Kazakhstan. The main objective of the exhibition is to show the historical, spiritual and cultural role of Turkestan in the history of Kazakhstan, the promotion of historical relics, the expansion of cultural ties between regions, and the strengthening of cooperation between museums. “
